3 Seconds – Haiku

Earth’s lifespan condensed

into one day: then we’ve been

here for three seconds.

If we’re going to

make it to the fourth second,

time is now crucial.


Of note: Earth is about 4.54 billion years old (1) and our “Anatomically Modern Homo Sapiens” are about 140-300 thousand years old (2). The ‘three-seconds’ mentioned in the haiku is a general estimate.
